Saksham Gakhar

Saksham Gakhar is a Research Data Scientist at Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook), and a lecturer for the Data Analytics program. He graduated with a PhD and MS degree from Stanford University in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he conducted multidisciplinary research at the intersection of data driven methods, machine learning, and environmental fluid dynamics. His PhD minor, also from Stanford, was in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning. Prior to his graduate studies, Saksham graduated from IIT Bombay, India with his B.Tech. Honors’ in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Computer Science. He has been a Link Foundation Ocean Engineering and Instrumentation Fellow for 2019-20, and has authored several peer reviewed articles in leading research journals.

Saksham cares deeply about data for social good, and has experience volunteering for a variety of impact-driven non-profits around the world. He is keen on sharing his industry and academic experience with his students, and helping them with their careers.
